Last night I forgot that we made plans to go out for wings with another couple and their children. It was fun, but around 7pm I thought I was going to fall asleep at the table. I didn't get out of the office early either so none of the things I wanted to do before dinner were done. Oh well. I do have to leave work early to go to a doctor's appointment and will get home early. Maybe I can do some tasks tonight.
My husband said something so funny last night I swear he can read my mind. We were heading out the door and he turns to me and says maybe we can get the wallpaper off the walls in the bedroom over break. I stared at him for a second and pulled my list out of my purse. He laughed when he saw that listed first! The best part of it is that he said he would help so we can get it done faster. Most of it is down it's just where my arm couldn't reach without a ladder that's left! Jeff said he figured there were going to be some things for him "to-do" over break. Yes, he knows me well.
But on another note, I was reading Denise's blog and she hit a nerve. HARD! Yesterday, I was going to post about the fight Paige and I had on Saturday and was too embarrassed. I feel like I am always fighting with her ( since she was 2!). She's very head strong and argumentative. But lately I've come to realize that 90% of our fighting is because of me. I come home from work and turn off. That's not fair to my husband and kids. My customers shouldn't be treated better than my family. Maybe I let it all out at home- all the things that bugged me during the day at work that I couldn't say! Regardless it's not right. And I am embarrassed to admit that I can be mean at home to my family. One of the tasks on my list is to figure a way to correct this. Any ideas?? I try to use my 30 min commute to decompress but sometimes it doesn't work.

Honey Do List Part 2
This week is a nice short work week for both me and Jeff. So of course I have to take advantage of the extra time and get some things done around the house. Not that Jeff knows, though I am sure he is probably aware that I will be asking for some work done around the house. Last night I surprised myself by cleaning the refrigerator after dinner. Why is that shocking? Because I didn't get dinner cleaned up till around 6pm and I normally don't tackle big projects like that so late at night. I haven't seen my refrigerator get so disgusting in a long time. Plus we just had recycling on Friday so I had plenty of room for all those unused bottles that collected and multiplied. One of my projects is to replace the gasket around the door. It is falling apart and since we aren't looking to get a new refrigerator, I'm thinking of just replacing the gasket. The refrigerator is about 12 yrs old and I should get a new one, but it's just not a good time.
But hey everyone, I didn't stop there. I had worked all day doing laundry as I got behind this week. The cross country team's warm up suits were turned in and needed washed. Because my husband knows how careful I am with clothes he asked me if it would be ok to clean them. He didn't want the parents to wash and dry them and ruin them. So in between running to the cross country banquet and Light Up Night Parade on Wednesday and Thursday, I washed and hung over 40 pairs of uniforms and warm up suits. Yuck! But now they're clean and ready to be stored for next year.
So yesterday, I worked on finishing up laundry and after cleaning the refrigerator I went up to my room and ironed and ironed and ironed!! All that I have left to iron are the clothes hanging from yesterdays wash. I have a short day today so I hope to get home and do my downstairs hardwood and vacuum the steps and iron the remaining clothes before WWE Raw comes on. My kids love wrestling and though I am not interested in it all, we usually watch it as a family.
My main goal over this break is to get the remaining wallpaper off the walls in my bedroom. Jeff promised me that we could get our bedroom remodelled over Christmas break if I get all the wallpaper off. And a new floor! The carpet is just disgusting. We definitely are going hardwood but not sure what type- though bamboo is high on the list. I want to go with blue and brown but I don't want it to look feminine. He saw a tv on sale at Target that he wants for our room. That would be nice because I iron in my room and it would be nice to listen to something while ironing and my clock radio has poor reception.
Jeff's running in a 5k Thursday morning and then we'll watch the Macy's Day Parade before heading over to my mother in laws for dinner. Then off to Jeff's aunt's for the Christmas gift name pulling and an early evening in bed. Jeff wants to hit Walmart for a trampoline on Friday and I'm sleeping in!
Anyone have exciting plans for this week?

New Curtains
Last night when I got home I went into the living room and decided that I can't stand those sheers any more! They were given to us free but after 6 years, they are falling apart. One panel is an odd shade lighter from the sun and of course when I took them down to wash them I put that one panel back on a different window and it looks horrible! So today I ordered new curtains and sheers. Jeff won't like the price, but with 3 large windows in my living room it's hard to keep the price down. Especially when you can't buy curtains as a pair anymore. I ordered them from JcPenny's and of course I can't get a picture linked.
I hope they go well in the living room. It will be nice to see good curtains instead of those old sheers. They've served us well, but need to be retired. The cat's snagged many of them and the stitching is falling apart.
One thing off my list- at least temporarily until I see if they match.

Tis the season
We all complain about how the stores push the holidays on us. Halloween for sale in July and Christmas in September. But I was really shocked Saturday when we were trick or treating and a house several blocks down from us was decked out for Christmas. Lights on the trees and wreaths on the windows. Really? It really looked odd in between homes that were completely covered in Halloween decorations and spooky music was playing. I told Jeff that it would be funny to ring their door bell and say trick or treat!!! But we didn't.
Christmas is going to be here soon and of course I'm marching to the beat of a different drum as I am trying to pare down and not purchase. Great time to decide to do this!! That's me. Although I have already begun Christmas shopping (I'm usually done by Halloween so I'm behind schedule), I am also looking to rid a lot of things in the home. I have a huge pile in the office, just need to borrow one of the camera's from work, and I get it all on eBay in time for others to do their shopping.
I'm not looking to completely stop purchasing things but to buy only those things that are truly necessary. Jeff wants me to finish taking down the wallpaper in our bedroom so we can paint and install a new floor. Our room is really horrible and in need of a remodel. I did purchase new sheets as our old ones were so cheap and made it hard for me to sleep. Since we don't know what color to use in our room I got a color that would go well in the attic that way when I do buy new bedding for our room these can go to the attic and replace the really old sheets on that bed.
The kids have made up their Christmas lists and other than Paige wanting a laptop, they aren't asking for much. I am pretty much done with Jeffrey Michael's list and now I'm working on Paige's. That just leaves nieces and nephews and teachers. I would like to be done by Thanksgiving so that I can try to get things needed for the house with all the sales. Our living room is in need of curtains. The sheers (that were given to me for free) are bleached from the sun and the cat made runs trying to move them to get to the window sill. Plus I'm hoping to get a nice camera. Too many pictures on the cell phone and I don't want to lose them.
